Recent Thank You List - updated 18.11.07

Auction night at Lingfield - Neil writes, "The night was excellent!.. What a great achievement in just over a months planning. I must say a huge thank you to Graham/GP Road show & Sarah, Pat & Pauline, Peter McKye & all the staff at The Victoria Club for all of their hard work to create such a great event for Sacha.

Graham & Sarah put on a great night and with help from auctioneer Peter McKye and a guest appearance by Radio Mercury’s Chris Oxlade, raised over £2850 with both the raffle and auction
combined. A friend of mine that works at Tottenham Hotspur FC managed to get me a signed shirt to auction off, amongst many fantastic items including two flight tickets anywhere in Europe.

Every penny helps Sacha’s survival and with this wealth of kindness towards us we can only hope for a better future in the way of trying to fight this fatal disease.Even though the odds are against us not losing our lovely daughter, we still believe there is hope, if we have to travel around the world – then that’s what it will take.

The worst part of being a father is being incapable of helping or saving your child when they are dying each day right in front of you. There is no cure and limited funding to find one, as unfortunately for us
this is such a rare disease.

China is our only hope at the moment. We kind of know what to expect – not a miracle but enough to see a change for the good in her. The potential is great if the stem cells populate and replace the dying cells, although this would be ideal, her disease is always going to fight back and is likely to take
her away from us one day.If stem cells are the way forward in treating Battens Disease, Sacha is
playing an important part for future developments.

We have to give her a chance, to give her back what she has given us."
